Regular oil changes can help optimize the performance and fuel economy of your Chevrolet car, truck, or SUV. Many older-model Chevrolet vehicles, including those manufactured without or before the creation of the Oil Life Monitoring System, require oil changes at 3,000-mile intervals. However, thanks to advances in engine technologies, newer models may have a longer range between oil changes. Always refer to your Chevrolet vehicle Owner’s Manual for oil-change intervals for your specific vehicle.
The Certified Service technicians at Serra Chevrolet Buick GMC of Nashville are expertly trained to understand how your vehicle uses its oil and how it monitors oil life. An oil change from a Certified Service technician not only gives you great service, convenience, and a great price, but you also get the added value of their expertise on your Chevrolet vehicle.
Plus, with Chevrolet Complete Care, 2 scheduled maintenance services (oil changes and four-tire rotation) are covered in the first 2 years or 24,000 miles. The Chevy Certified Service experts at Serra Chevrolet Buick GMC of Nashville can help you take full advantage of all the benefits found in Chevrolet Complete Care. Most Chevrolet vehicles are equipped with the engine Oil Life System (OLS). This system interprets your vehicle’s speed and engine temperature and continuously monitors operating conditions—which helps determine when it’s time for an oil change.
The OLS monitors a number of conditions including engine revolutions, engine temperature, and miles driven to let you know precisely when to come in for an oil change. As soon as the OLS light comes on, you know it’s time for service. It’s a simple, effective way to help you save money and help reduce oil waste.
It’s a good idea to periodically check your oil level. In order to get an accurate reading, the oil must be warm, at normal operating temperature, and the vehicle must be on level ground. Always consult your Chevrolet vehicle Owner’s Manual for the proper procedure to check your oil level. You’ll get a more accurate dipstick reading by following those instructions.
1Maintenance visits must occur within two years or 24,000 miles of vehicle delivery, whichever comes first. All 2017 Corvette models are eligible for three service visits under the Chevrolet Complete Care program. Does not include air filters. See participating dealer for other restrictions and complete details.
